• Re: 2010

Now that we’ve all returned from the bosom of our respective families after the xmas hols, Machar Granite plan to make 2010 even better than 2009.  We hope to get out there and play new venues and further afield, even snapping up a couple of festival slots; all going well!

There will be time to rehearse, to write and to record, hopefully developing our sound as a band along the way.

Hope to see you out there. x

  • Update from MGHQ

its been a while since we let you all know whats happening at granite hq so here’s a wee update.

we’re now a four piece with lucy cradden joining the band full time; lucy has been involved with machar granite in its various incarnations since last year so in real terms is already a bit of a veteran!

following a pretty hectic summer of gigging we’re taking it a bit more quietly in terms of live shows. eddie is off to oz for a month and the band have decided that now is a good time to start workin on some new material. we’ve started work on two or three new ideas which we’re quite excited about and we hope to introduce new tracks into shows towards the end of the year. the plan is for the band as a whole to have more involvement in the creative process which is gonnae be a new way of workin for all of us!

in terms of shows, the gig this thursday evening at the argyle bar will likely be the last band effort in edinburgh for a while. pop down to catch us if you’re free.

lastly a quick plug: glasgow podcart have featured one of the tracks from our debut album on their weekly podcast (week 29) and said some nice things about the album. if you haven’t already checked glasgow podcart out i urge you to, these guys dedicate a lot of time to helping raise the profile of unsigned bands out of nothing more than sheer enthusiasm for new music, they are a rarity in today’s world and need the suppport of listeners. check them out!

  • Lyrics

We’ve been asked a few times this week why we didn’t put lyrics on the sleeves. Some bands do, some bands don’t.  We’re one of the bands that don’t.  However, we kinda figured it wouldn’t hurt to put some of the lyrics up for anyone who is interested so if thats your thing, then there are a selection of lyrics from off the album which you can view in the music section.  You can also buy the album through PayPal from here just in case you’re feeling  generous!
